The Microsoft Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) is an optional update for Microsoft Windows that adds support for non-English users of the operating system. As a free update, the Microsoft Windows XP version of MUI can be installed by any users of any version of Windows XP, including the Home version. The latest version of MUI is designed to run on Windows XP Service Pack 3, so before installing the MUI, make sure to update your software.

    Open your computer's Start menu and click "Windows Update." If any updates are available for your version of Windows XP, click "Install." Wait for the updates to install then click "OK."

    Open your Internet browser from your desktop or the Start menu of your computer.

    Navigate to the Microsoft home page in Resources. Click "Downloads and Trials" and choose "Download Center."

    Type "MUI" into the Download Center search box at the top of the screen and press "Enter."

    Click "Windows XP Service Pack 3 MUI Pack Update" to go to the page for the MUI update.

    Click the "Download" button. Wait for the download to load, then click "Run this program from its current location."

    Click "OK" when the update has finished installing.
