Log in to the Joomla administration control panel using your administrator username and password. The Joomla administration control panel is located in the "Administration" directory of your website by default.
Access the "Content" menu, open the "Article Manager" and click on the article to which you wish to add the email address link.
Type "email link" into the WSYIWIG content editor and highlight the text. Click the "Insert/Edit" link button and type "mailto:" followed by the target e-mail address of the link into the "Link URL" text field. Click "Insert" to create the link.
Highlight the link and click the "Insert/Edit Link" button to edit this link at any time, or use the "Unlink" button to remove the link from the highlighted text. Click "Apply" and "Save" to save the changes you have made and publish the article.
Tips and warnings
- If you do not type "Mailto:" before the target e-mail address while creating the link, Joomla will notify you with dialogue window that you did not create the email link properly and ask if you would like to automatically format the link for an e-mail address. Click "No" if you wish to link to an e-mail address without the "Mailto:" prefix.
