The Laserjet 6P is a line of computer printers made by Hewlett Packard, which has since discontinued the series. HP 6P printers use a parallel-port connection with 36 holes set in two rows that align with a parallel cable. Connecting the printer with a USB connection, found on most newer computers and laptops, requires an adaptor cable and software installed on the computer. The necessary software is loaded on a CD that comes with the adaptor cable.
