International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a common format for image files. A single image ISO file typically contains a precise bit by bit copy of an entire CD or DVD. Thus, ISO images are often used for cloning or backing up media or data CD/DVD. The Nero 8 software directly supports the ISO format and allows you to easily burn an image on a recordable disc.
