- USB drive
Plug the USB drive into your computer and open its folder.
Drag any important files, such as word documents and photos, you wish to save into the USB drive's folder. Then eject the USB drive.
Restart the computer.
Press "Ctrl" and "F11" when the Dell logo appears in the computer's start-up. Then release both keys. The "Dell PC Restore by Symantec" window will appear.
Press the "Tab" key until "Restore" is highlighted. Then click the "Enter" key.
Press the "Tab" key to highlight "Confirm" and press "Enter." Your computer will then reformat itself to its original settings. Press "Tab" until "Finish" is highlighted once the process is over and hit the "Enter" key.
