The Xbox 360 wireless headset allows you to voice chat with other players while playing games that support voice chat features. When you connect the wireless headset to your Xbox 360, it must make a connection to the same wireless port as your Xbox 360 controller. The port that your wireless accessories are using is indicated by one of four lights on the controller, headset and Xbox 360 game system. When all three lights do not correspond to the same port, your wireless headset may not work properly.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Disconnect all accessories and wired controllers from the Xbox 360.

  2. 2

Hold the “Guide” button down for three seconds on any wireless controllers, then respond to the prompt on your television screen to disconnect the controllers from your system.

  3. 3

Turn on the wireless headset by pressing the "Power" button in the centre of the earpiece.

  4. 4

Press the “Connect” button on the front of your Xbox 360 system.

  5. 5

Press the “Connect” button on the wireless headset. The ring of lights around the power button of the Xbox 360 system should spin and blink once. One of the lights should remain lit up, indicating the port number that the headset is using. If you do not see any lights on the system, you may have a faulty wireless headset.

  6. 6

Press the “Guide” button on your wireless controller to reconnect the controller to the Xbox 360 system. If you are using a wired controller, you can plug it back into the system.

  7. 7

Press the “Connect” button on the top of your wireless controller to sync the controller with your system. You should see the connection light around the “Guide” button on the controller light up, indicating which port you are connected to. You should also see a corresponding port light in the ring around the power button of your Xbox 360 system.

  8. 8

Press the “Connect” button on the wireless headset until the port light on the headset matches the light on the controller and Xbox 360 system. For example, if you are the first player, the light for port number one should be lit up on the Xbox system, the controller and the headset. When all lights correspond, your headset should be properly connected.
