How to Remove the LogMeIn Rescue Applet

Updated July 20, 2017

The LogMeIn Rescue applet can be very useful to you as a user, or a system administrator. However, you may not wish to keep the applet installed after making use of it. As an administrator, you have the option of giving users an automated uninstallation option for their phones. This conveniently saves them from having to manually do it on their phones. The uninstall process varies with every model; not all users are familiar with it. As a user of the applet, you can uninstall it from your system at any time, but you'll need administrative rights and you'll have to do it manually.

Start the LogMeIn Rescue "Administration Center."

Select the "Technician Group" you want to work with from the "Organization Tree." It should be visible by default.

Click the "Settings" tab.

Look for "Mobile Applet;" it will present you with two options. Select the "Prompts user with uninstall option" box and click "Save changes." If you want to save this setting for all groups, select "Save settings to all groups." Now users will have the option of uninstalling the rescue applet after each session.

Click "Start" and select "Control Panel."

Open "Add/Remove Programs" or "Programs and Features." This will vary depending on your version of Windows.

Select the "LogMeIn Rescue Applet" in the list. Click "Uninstall" or "Remove." Follow any on-screen instructions to finish the process.

Select your hard drive.

Select "Applications" from the list.

Click on "LogMeIn Rescue Applet" and drag it to the "Trash." Follow any on screen instructions to complete uninstallation.
