The Logitech Company manufactures computer equipment. There are several models of laser mice available. A laser mouse is either wireless and connects via an adaptor piece, or it has an attached wire that plugs into a USB hub. Laser mice do not generally get as dirty as trackball mice. The trackball is the main dirt attractant because it picks up dust and debris as it rolls on the mouse pad. However, you may still need to take your Logitech laser mouse apart to clean it or replace the LED lights.

  1. 1

Remove your mouse from your computer and turn off the power switch on it.

  2. 2

Look for any screws around the edges or bottom of the mouse and remove them. Pull off the top, rounded panel.

  3. 3

Remove the screws inside the flat, green motherboard and pull it out.

  4. 4

Look for the two LED houses, which are rectangular, beige boxes on the green motherboard. If you want to replace the LED lights, proceed to the next step.

  5. 5

Heat your soldering iron and touch the sides of each plastic LED house. They are held down with glue. Pull on them with tweezers to remove them from the board.

  6. 6

Snap on new LED lights where you just removed the old ones.

  7. 7

Reassemble your Logitech laser mouse and power it on.
