When removing vocals on Nero 8, you must have a VST or DirectX vocal removal plug-in. Nero Wave Editor makes it possible for you to edit, compose and remove vocals in the Nero 8 application. The Nero Wave Editor interface allows you to cross-fade, adjust the pitch of songs, and manipulate vocal effects with different audio file types such as WAV, MP3 or AIFF. The vocal removal plug-in can be downloaded online if the Nero 8 application is not supplied with one.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Open the program and click "File" from the top of the screen, then "Open." Highlight the song of your choice and click the "Open" button at the bottom of the window. Click to highlight the song in the "Track Window," then click "Options" from the top menu.

  2. 2

Select the "Editors Options" tab, then click "VST Plug-Ins." Select the vocal removal plug-in by clicking the "Add Plug-In" tab located at the bottom of the window.

  3. 3

Download a free vocal removal plug-in online if you don't already have one. Select the folder or location where the plug-in is located, then click the "Open" button located at the bottom of the window.

  4. 4

Highlight the vocal removal plug-in under the "Installed VST Plug-Ins" window, which is located in the "Editors Options." Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window and wait for the effect to be applied.

  5. 5

Preview the song by clicking the "Play" button, which is located on the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Save the song to your computer by selecting "File" from the top menu, then "Save."
