How to Use a Telephone Number to Find the Caller

All mobile phones come with caller identification and, like most landline phones, also have a digital display screen that show an incoming number. The name of the person calling may not show up if you do not have the number programmed into your phone. You can find out who is calling by using a reverse lookup service offered by White Pages.

    Write down the phone number you want to investigate.

    Visit the White Pages website. The link is in the Resources section.

  3. 3

    Click the "Reverse Phone" tab at the top of the screen. It is next to the "Business" tab.

    Enter the phone number. Include the zip code but do not include dashes or parenthesis. Click "Find." The name of the person who owns the number will display on the screen.

  5. 5

    If you do not have Internet access, Text the number to 566587. This number is the text lookup service of the White Pages. The company will text you the name of the unknown caller.
