The HP PSC 1500 is an all-in-one printer that can print, scan and make copies. It produces clear text and better-than-average colour prints. Using the PSC 1500 is usually a straightforward process; however, the machine does have a quirk--alignment test pages.
If you do not successfully complete the cartridge alignment process when you install the printer, the machine will continuously print alignment test pages whenever you turn on the unit or send a print job to it. Therefore, if you want to prevent the machine from producing more test pages (and wasting expensive printer ink), you need to complete the alignment process.

Ensure the printer has clean paper in it. Turn the printer off, then turn it back on again. Allow the printer to print the alignment test page.
Lift the lid on the scanner and align the top edge of the alignment page face down on the lower-right corner of the scanner glass. Close the scanner lid.
Press the "Start" button on the left-hand side of the PSC 1500. The power button light will start blinking to indicate the alignment is in process. When the light stops blinking, the alignment process is complete and you can remove the test page from the scanner glass.
Turn the PSC 1500 off and then back on again. The unit should no longer produce test pages when you turn it on or print to it.
Tips and warnings
- If the above process does not work, remove the print cartridges and inspect them to make sure that there is no protective tape still on the nozzle. If you forgot to remove the tape when you installed the cartridge, remove it and complete the alignment process again.
