Ear clamp pliers, also known as clamp pliers, are used commonly to crimp clamps (metal rings) into place, frequently inside cars but also around the house. They can also be used to crimp "findings" (or clasps) on jewellery. They can be found in a number of sizes and have different-shaped holes.
- Skill level:
Position your clamp or finding around the pipe or jewellery leather you want to crimp.
Hold the clamp or finding in place as you move the pliers into position with your other hand.
Squeeze the pliers when the circular opening is in place around what you want to crimp. Squeeze until the clamp is tight enough to not slip loose.
