Perhaps you are starting a business and need to create professional looking invoices. OpenOffice allows you to do this. It is a free office suite software provided by Oracle. Because the same basic tasks can be achieved with OpenOffice, it is an alternative to Microsoft Office. Creating invoices in OpenOffice is not difficult.

    Download OpenOffice (see the Resources section).

    Select a template from your search for an invoice template (see the Resources section). You can choose from various types. The selection includes many different colours and layouts.

    Download your chosen template.

    Open the downloaded file.

    Individualise the form to your needs. Depending on the template that you choose, you may fill in information such as your company name, the name of the business that you are billing and a quantity, description and price of your product or service. Once completed, save it to your file.
