How to Turn Off WiFi on an Acer Aspire One

Updated February 21, 2017

The Acer Aspire One is a compact notebook computer. The Aspire One accesses the Internet using the built-in Wi-Fi card that will pick up available signals for a connection. Wi-Fi can be turned on or off instantly on the Aspire One using the toggle switch built into the control panel below the keyboard.

Turn on the Acer Aspire One by pressing the power button at the top of the keyboard. A soft blue light will illuminate the power switch.

Press the Wi-Fi on/off toggle switch on the lower right edge on the front of the laptop, just below the keyboard, to turn off Wi-Fi on the Aspire One. The switch is printed with a small icon resembling a satellite dish. An orange LED illuminates when the switch is turned on to indicate Wi-Fi is active on the Aspire One. The LED will go out when the switch is turned off.

Press the switch again to reactivate Wi-Fi. Wait for the LED to illuminate before opening the Explorer browser.

Access the Internet by double-clicking the Windows Internet Explorer "e" icon on the desktop. Explorer is the default web browser installed on the Aspire One.
