How to Activate Bluetooth on a Dell Inspiron 1525

The Dell Inspiron 1525 laptops most frequently come with Windows Vista installed on them. Since the release of the Windows XP Bluetooth capabilities more and more laptops have been building in Bluetooth chips into the laptop. If your Inspiron has a Bluetooth chip, you can enable it to connect it to other Bluetooth devices within your home to transfer data.

    Click the “Start” menu button.

    Open the “Control Panel” and select “Hardware and Sound.”

    Open “Bluetooth Devices.” If you do not have “Bluetooth Devices” listed, this means that your Inspiron does not have a built-in Bluetooth chip. Therefore, you cannot activate Bluetooth on the laptop without a third-party Bluetooth adaptor and software.

    Click “Bluetooth Settings” at the top of the window.

    Activate Bluetooth on your Inspiron by clicking “Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer” and “Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer.” Also, ensure that the “Turn off Bluetooth adaptor” option is not checked.

    Click “Apply” to save your settings.
