Glass items like plates or windows are breakable and are easily cracked. When glass plates start showing small cracks, repairs are needed immediately or the glass plate cannot be saved. Whether the plate is used for eating, or is used for other purposes such as decorations or microwaves, cracks can lead to the glass breaking and causing injuries. Fixing the problem as soon as possible prevents injuries and avoids the purchase of a new glass plate.

  1. 1

Look in a window or glass store for glass repairing solutions. These solutions are actually clear plastic that fill in the cracks. Glass repairing solutions for cracks in glass are usually used on cars, but using the solution on a glass plate is appropriate too.

  2. 2

Apply the solution to the plate. Depending on the solution, the applicator will differ slightly. Fill in the cracks with the glass repairing solution. Check that the solution is smoothed and flat so that the plate will not have odd bumps and adjust as necessary to smooth it out.

  3. 3

Allow the solution to dry and check that all of the cracks are filled. If there are a few cracks left or missed, fill them in and let it dry again.
