There is an old wive's tale that says a slice of wedding cake stashed beneath the pillow of an unattached guest will bring her dreams of her future companion. Whether or not you buy into this tale, sending wedding guests home with a slice of cake is a sweet way of saying thank you for helping to celebrate in the big day. Creating packaging for these cake slices is a fun project that you can do yourself.

Things you need
- Razor blade
- Double stick tape
Download a cake slice box template. Stampington & Company, and Better Homes and Gardens both have free templates on their websites. Print out the template of your choice and cut it out carefully.
Trace the pattern onto a piece of cardstock and then cut the shape out. Follow the pattern to score along the fold lines. Score lightly with a razor blade, but be careful not to cut all the way through.
Fold along the score lines and use double stick tape to make sure the box stays together. For aesthetic purposes, it's best if none of the tape is showing. You can also use crafter's glue for this step, depending on your preferences.
Adorn the boxes with satin ribbon in the bride's colours. You also can decorate the box with stickers, stamps or other embellishments as you see fit.
