Instructions

  1. 1

Straighten out the metal coat hanger and bend one end of the hanger into a hook shape. Make the hook about one inch.

  2. 2

Place the end of the metal coat hanger with the hook on it between the window and the frame. Place the hanger 1/2 an inch behind the door handle toward the edge of the door closest to the rear door.

  3. 3

Push the hanger down about two feet into the door frame. Pull up on the hanger until you feel the hook catch onto the metal arm inside the door frame that controls the lock. You may have to try a few times before the hook catches the metal arm.

  4. 4

Pull up on the hanger once the hook has connected to the metal arm until the door lock unlocks. The lock handle on the inside of the car will move once you have connected the hook to the metal arm that controls the door lock.
