Gmail is a simple, powerful e-mail program used by millions of people worldwide. It is often easier to set Gmail's website to your computer's home page than to frequently navigate to it. The process is simple, though not the same for all web browsers.

Open the Firefox web browser, and navigate to Gmail's website; a link is in the Resources section below.
Click the "Tools" link at the top of the web browser window. Click "Options" to open the pop-up options box.
Click the "General" tab, if it is not already selected. The first option in the "General" tab is "Startup." Select "Show my Homepage" from the "When Firefox Starts" drop-down menu.
Type Gmail's web address into the "Homepage" box, or click the "Use Current Pages" button. Click the "Okay" button to commit the changes to the browser's memory.
Close and restart Firefox to confirm that the changes were made and that the home page is Google's Gmail.
Open the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser, and navigate to Gmail's website; check the Resources section below for a link to Gmail.
Click the "Tools" drop-down link from the toolbar on the right-hand side. Select the "Internet Options" link at the bottom of the menu.
Select the "General" tab if it's not already chosen. In the "Home page" box, type Gmail's web address, or click the "Use Current" button. Click "Apply" to make the changes and "Okay" to close the "Internet Options" box.
Close the web browser, and restart it to check that the changes were applied and that Gmail is the home page.
Open the Google Chrome web browser and navigate to Gmail's website; check the Resources section for the Gmail link.
Click the "Customize and Control Google Chrome" button on the navigation bar. The button looks like a wrench. Select the "Options" link from the drop-down menu.
Select the "Basics" tab if it's not already chosen. Select "Open the home page" option from the "Startup" section. Choose "Open this page" from the "Home page" section, and type Gmail's web address in the box.
Click the "Close" button to apply the changes, and restart the web browser to check that the changes were applied.
