Speed Launcher is an Adobe application installed on your computer when you install Reader. Once installed, Speed Launcher shortens the time needed to start Reader. By default, Speed Launcher is included in the Startup folder and launches automatically when it you start your computer. Because Speed Launcher consumes system memory, you can disable the application if you prefer to launch the program manually.

    Double-click the "Computer" icon on the desktop and double-click the "C:" drive. Double-click the "Users" folder and double-click your username folder.

    Double-click the "Appdata" folder, double-click the "Roaming" folder and double-click the "Microsoft" folder. Double-click the "Windows" folder, double-click the "Start Menu" folder, double-click the "Programs" folder and double-click the "Startup" folder.

    Locate the "Speed Launcher" icon and drag it out of the Startup folder. Speed Launcher no longer launches automatically when you start your computer.
