The Norton Antivirus software, developed by Symantec, is available for use through an annual recurring subscription. When you purchase Norton, you are required to provide your credit card information to Symantec. This credit card is charged and you receive the rights to a one-year license to use the software to help protect your computer. Symantec automatically flags your account for automatic renewal. Once your one-year subscription period has passed, the credit card you originally provided will be charged again unless you manually disable the reoccurring payment option in your Symantec account.
Go to the "My Norton Account" webpage (see Resources for link). Sign in using the username and password you selected when you signed up for your Norton subscription.
Access the "Automatic Renewal" page by clicking on its link located at the top of your screen.
Uncheck any boxes next to the Norton products listed that you wish to cancel.
Click "Update" to complete the automatic renewal cancellation process.
