How to Search for People on MSN Hotmail

Finding people on MSN Hotmail is a multi-step process that requires the use of several search engines--all of which are easy-to-use and available on the MSN Hotmail website. To get started, all you have to do is sign in to your MSN Hotmail account, follow the easy-to-find links and start looking for people on MSN Hotmail. As you become familiar with the process, you can search for and add more and more people to your contact list.

Go to and sign in. Enter your Windows Live ID and password.

Click on the “People” tab, which is located at the top of your e-mail page.

Enter the name of the person you want to search for in the “Search Your Contact List” box. Click on the magnifying glass icon next to the search box to search for people on MSN.

Click “Add People.” When the page loads, enter a name or e-mail address in the search box. Click on the “Next” tab to search for people on Windows Live.

Click on the "Advanced Search" button to search for people on MSN using first and last name, interest, gender, location, work and education. Click on the “Search” button to start your search.. Browse your search results.


To add people from popular social networking sites such as Facebook, Hyves and Tagged, follow the above directions. Click on the appropriate icon when directed. Click on the “Agree” tab to connect to the social networking site and add additional contacts.
