Once the tail light of a Mazda RX-8 burns out, it will need to be replaced with a new bulb. Check the other bulb on the vehicle to see if it is working correctly. It may be necessary to replace the other bulb at this time as the other is likely due to burn out too.

- Sylvania 7443 tail light bulb
Open the boot to access the tail light assembly. Locate the back of the tail light.
Pull the retaining clips holding the carpet in place. The clips will release once they're pulled back far enough. Unscrew the retaining clips holding the carpet in place. Peel the carpet down to access the tail light assembly.
Unscrew the socket counter-clockwise to release it from the back of the tail light. Pull the socket straight out to reveal the bulb.
Pull the bulb off the socket. Push in the new bulb until it stops.
Screw the socket back in to the back of the tail light assembly. The socket will lock in place once it is turned far enough.
Position the carpet back over the tail light assembly. Push in the retaining clips to secure the carpet.
Close the boot. Test the tail lights to see if they are working correctly.
