How to Adjust Brightness on an HP 6730B

Your Hewlett-Packard 6730B laptop contains an array of features, including the ability to connect to a projector, a wireless network and to a corporate or home network. When running the laptop on battery power instead having it plugged in, you can adjust your computer's brightness to extend battery life as well as reduce the amount of light coming from the laptop's screen. The brightness adjustment returns to its default setting once you restart your computer or return the feature to its original setting manually.

    Press and hold the "Fn" key on your HP 6730B's keyboard.

    Press the "F9" key to decrease your laptop's brightness. With each press of the key, your HP 6730B's display will darken.

    Press the "F10" key to increase the brightness. With each press of the key, your HP 6730B's display will lighten.

  4. 4

    Release the "Fn" key.

Tips and warnings

  • If you don't notice a change in your HP 6730B's brightness, press and release the "Fn" key then press the "F9" or "F10" function key to decrease or increase the brightness.
