How to Clean a Toshiba Laptop Fan

Updated February 21, 2017

Toshiba is an international company that manufactures laptops, electronics and accessories for those products. A Toshiba laptop should be routinely cleaned to remove dirt and dust. Part of that cleaning should include cleaning the laptop fan. The laptop fan should be routinely cleaned or cleaned whenever there appears to be dust or build-up around the fans. If dust or debris builds up around or on the fan, it can cause the fan to improperly work, which can lead to the laptop overheating.

Unplug the laptop. Remove the battery. Batteries are located on the underside of the laptop and can be removed by sliding the black buttons surrounding the battery.

Dampen a cloth in wet water. Squeeze to remove all excess moisture.

Turn the laptop upside down, so the fan and fan grate are facing upward. Wipe the fan grate down with the damp cloth to remove dirt and dust.

Spray canned air through the grates to remove dirt and dust build-up from the fans.

Use the cloth to wipe the grates down again.
