How to Block an Email Address in Hotmail

Updated March 23, 2017

Blocking individual e-mail addresses can save you from spam and harassing messages. Though Hotmail features a useful junk e-mail blocker, some may slip through the cracks, requiring further action. Once you block an e-mail address, you can unblock it at any time. There is no limit to the number of e-mail addresses you can add to the blocked list.

Open your Web browser and navigate to the Hotmail home page.

Log in to your Hotmail account.

Click “Options” then “More Options.”

Click “Safe and Blocked Senders” under “Junk e-mail.”

Select “Blocked senders.”

Enter the email address of the person you want to block.

Click “Add to list” to add the email address to the blocked list.
