Instructions

  1. 1

Fold the 8 1/2-by-11-inch card stock into quarters. Carefully cut the four sections apart using a precision knife for a clean edge. This will create the bodies of four invitations.

  2. 2

Fold a piece of 8 1/2-by-11-inch butterfly-themed scrapbook paper into quarters. Cut the four sections apart with a precision knife. Choose paper that has the butterfly print across the entire page, otherwise you will end up with four sections that have a different pattern on them.

  3. 3

Create a word document on your computer with customised dimensions. The template should measure 4 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches. Type the information related to your wedding in the document in the font and colour of your choice. Print a test sheet on a piece of butterfly paper to ensure that everything is lined up correctly and that the text is easy to read. If the centring looks off or the font colour is hard to read, adjust the alignment on the word document and change the font colour before printing a second test sheet.

  4. 4

Open the printer settings on your computer and change the printing size to match the dimensions of your word document. Print the document onto each of the scrapbook paper cutouts.

  5. 5

Glue one scrapbook paper cutout onto each piece of card stock, making sure that all of the edges line up correctly. Smooth out any wrinkles or creases using your fingers. A glue stick will give you the least amount of creasing or bubbling.

  6. 6

Place a pop-up adhesive dot onto one of the lower corners of each invitation. Peel the protective coating off of the dot, and stick a butterfly embellishment on each. This will give depth and detail to your butterfly-themed invitations.

Tips and warnings

  • Be careful when using the precision knife, as they are very sharp.
