Instructions

  1. 1

Find the local network information using a computer on the same local network as the Nuvico DVR. Click "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories" and "Command Prompt." Type "ipconfig" into the "Command Prompt" window and press "Enter." Write down the numbers to the right of "IP Address," "Subnet Mask" and "Default Gateway" in the "Command Prompt" window.

  2. 2

Press the "Menu" button on the front of the Nuvico DVR, then navigate to the "Network" icon on the menu with the arrow keys on the front of the Nuvico DVR and press the "Enter" button.

  3. 3

Enter the Nuvico DVR's IP address using the number buttons. Enter the IP address from the local network computer, changing the last digit to a "5," in the "IP Address" box. For example, if the local computer's IP address is "192.168.1.100," enter "192.168.1.105" into the Nuvico DVR.

  4. 4

Enter the subnet mask and default gateway values from the local network computer into the "Subnet Mask" and "Default Gateway" boxes on the Nuvico DVR's "Network" screen and press "Enter."

  5. 5

Forward port "7000" to the IP address of the Nuvico DVR device using your router's web configuration interface. See your router's documentation for more information, as this procedure will vary by manufacturer.

  6. 6

Press the "Menu" button on the front of the Nuvico DVR, then navigate to the "System" icon on the menu with the arrow keys on the front of the device and press the "Enter" button.

  7. 7

Navigate to the "Info" tab at the top of the "System" menu with the arrow buttons.

  8. 8

Write down the value to the right of "Serial No." on the "Info" screen.

  9. 9

Access your Nuvico DVR over the Internet by typing your Nuvico DVR's serial number followed by ".dvrhost.com:7000" into your web browser's address bar. For example, if your serial number is "P400012," type "p400012.dvrhost.com:7000" into your web browser's address bar. Authenticate yourself by typing "pdvr" into the "User Name" box, typing your DVR's password, "000000" by default, into the "Password" box and pressing "Enter."
