With the right software, you can use the PlayStation 3's remote control with your home computer. With its Bluetooth connection, you can control your home media playback from anywhere in the room, wirelessly.

- Computer with Bluetooth adaptor
- Windows Vista or 7
- Internet connection
Download and install the "PS3 Remote Application" installer from the Ben Barron website linked in the Resource section below.
Open the "Start" menu on your computer and click on "Control Panel." Open the "Bluetooth Devices" control panel and click the "Add" button.
Hold down the "Start" and "Enter" buttons on the PS3 Bluetooth remote until its indicator light starts to flash.
On your computer, click the box next to the "My device is set up and ready to be found" message, then click "Next." Your computer should begin to search for the remote control.
Click on the "BD Remote Control" entry from the list that comes up, then click on the "Next" button.
Click "Don't use a passkey" from the following window, then click on the "Next" button. You can now use the PS3 remote to control media programs such as Windows Media Center.
Start up Windows Media Center and use the remote for a variety of functions, including browsing your media library, playing movies, fast forwarding and rewinding.
Tips and warnings
