Using a spring to generate compressed air, a Nerf-brand weapon shoots a foam dart or pellet. Firing a larger foam projectile for a shorter distance in the manner of that of a real shotgun can be accomplished with a homemade Nerf-style shotgun. Using a few household tools, you can adapt a Nerf Recon or Longshot model into a shotgun. No disassembly of the Nerf-brand weapon is required. Adult supervision is necessary if you are underage as a cutting tool must be used.
