AutoCAD is a 3D engineering modelling program used to design mechanical and electrical models for planning and development reasons. This software uses a license that is embedded in the Windows registry, and if you want to recover the license file, you must delve into the Windows registry to do so.

    Open the Registry Editor by clicking on "Start," "Run," typing "regedit" and then pressing "Enter." In Windows Vista and Windows 7, simply type "regedit" into the "Start" menu search bar and press "Enter."

    Navigate to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R15.0\ACAD-1:405\AdLM\Type" registry key.

    Right-click on the registry key and click "Export."

    Choose a name to save the license registry key file as, along with a location where you want to save it, and then click the "Save" button.
