The fuel system on the KIA Sedona model vehicles comes equipped with a fuel filter that keeps clean gas flowing to the engine. The fuel filter is made up of a canister and an inner filter that is made up of fibres. The fibres inside of the canister catch and trap any type of sediments and impurities from the gas. The clean gas then flows to the fuel injectors. The fuel injectors then disburse the clean gas into the engine. Replace the fuel filter every 40,000 to 50,000 miles.

Park the KIA Sedona outside so that vehicle will be in a well ventilated area. Pull the bonnet locking latch and raise the bonnet.
Unscrew the fuel cap from the fuel neck of the fuel tank. Taking the fuel cap off of the fuel tank will remove all of the high gas pressure off of the fuel filter.
Locate the round black canister fuel filter that is mounted to the driver's side firewall. Then, position the dripping pan under the KIA Sedona in the general area of the fuel filter.
Position the 5/8 open end wrench onto the bottom fuel line nut. Then, position the adjustable wrench onto the nut that is built onto bottom of the fuel filter. Turn the bottom fuel filter nut counterclockwise while holding the adjustable wrench as a back up. Once the fuel line nut is loose, loosen the nut with your fingers. Pull the fuel line out of the fuel filter.
Position the 19-mm wrench onto the top fuel line nut. Then, position the adjustable wrench onto the nut that is built into the top of the fuel filter. Turn the fuel filter nut counterclockwise while holding the adjustable wrench as a back up. Once the fuel line nut is loose, loosen the fuel line nut with your fingers. Pull the fuel line out of the fuel filter.
Loosen and remove the fuel filter bracket bolt with the adjustable wrench. Pull the fuel filter out of the bracket and put it into the dripping pan.
Push the new fuel filter into the bracket with the 19-mm end facing up. Insert and tighten the fuel filter bracket bolt with the adjustable wrench.
Screw the top and bottom fuel lines back on the fuel filter. Tighten both of the fuel lines down tight with the 5/8 wrench and the 19-mm wrench. Use the adjustable wrench as a back up when tightening.
Turn the key on for five seconds and then back off. Do this two more times. This will fill the new fuel filter with gas and remove the air from the fuel system. Crank the engine on the fourth turn of the key.
Look over the new fuel filter for leaks with the motor running. Turn the engine off. Slide the dripping pan out from under the KIA Sedona and shut the bonnet.
