How to Make Jam Pot Labels

Updated July 20, 2017

There's nothing like the taste of sweet, natural jam fresh from the fruit-bearing plants in your farm or garden. When sealing away your jam--whether for winter storage, gifts to family and friends, or for sale at the local produce market--your jars will need proper identification labels. It is, after all, important to be able to distinguish the raspberry flavour from the strawberry flavour. Fortunately, jam pot labels are easy and fun to make at home. With the appropriate computer software, you will be able to choose your own fonts and designs with which to identify and decorate your jam pots.

Download design software, such as Avery Design Pro, that is tailored specifically for the purpose of creating computer-designed labels. Be sure to download the correct version (either PC or Mac) for your computer.

Open the Avery Design software and begin creating your labels. Experiment with different label borders, fonts, colours, and so on.

When you have created a satisfactory design, print the labels. At last, you may tape your custom-made labels onto the surfaces of your jam pots.
