Microsoft Office Word may be downloaded as a trial version and used without a product key. However, the Microsoft Activation Assistant, installed with the software, will prompt you multiple times for the product key. If the application is closed and then reopened, Word will prompt again for the product key. You must answer “No” to these prompts in order to continue with the trial. Most Microsoft trial products run for a specified number of times before the product is disabled or a valid product key is entered. Once the trial limit is reached, the application will not allow creation of new documents and most of the features will be disabled. Normally, you will have 25 accesses to the trial application before the product key must be entered.
