Sony Handycam camcorders can record high-definition or standard-definition video, depending on the model. Both camera types are equipped with a foldout video screen for viewing recorded footage, which you can play back with the push of a button. To view video from the Handycam on a larger screen, such as a TV, hook up the camera with an AV cable. Choosing a cable depends on the camera model. The actual connection takes less than a minute whether it's high-def or standard.
