How to Make Bicycle Decals

Updated February 21, 2017

Create your own customised bicycle decals using your computer and printer at home or in the office. Find printer decal sheets for sale at office supply centres, craft stores or on Internet retail sites. Make sure to buy decal paper that works with your specific type of printer, whether it is a laser or inkjet. The sky is the limit as far as decal designs, since you can either find images on the Internet or create your own with graphic design software such as Microsoft Paint, Photoshop or CorelDRAW.

Open the image files you wish to turn into decals. Position these images so they fit on a single sheet of paper.

Load a single sheet of decal paper into your printer’s paper tray. Click on the printer icon in your software program to print on the sheet.

Wait five minutes for the decal sheet to dry before you remove it from the printer. Cut out the decals on a hard surface, using a fine-point craft knife.

Clean the surface of your bike with water and a microfiber cloth. Dry the bike’s frame with a dry microfiber cloth.

Remove the backing paper from the decal, then apply the adhesive side to the area you desire on the bicycle.
