Many items can be made to glow in the dark. If you're having trouble finding your shoes in the middle of the night or just want to be noticed in the dark, then making your shoes glow can be both fun and useful. To keep your glow-in-the-dark shoes shining brightly after the sun goes down, make sure they are regularly exposed to light. Light charges the phosphors in these materials and keeps them energised.

Lace your shoes with glow-in-the-dark shoelaces.
Apply white craft glue to your shoes and firmly press glow-in-the-dark shoelaces into the glue. Create abstract designs with the shoelaces or cover the entire shoe surface. Trim any excess lace with scissors and seal the end with a dab of glue.
Apply a thin layer of glow-in-the-dark paint to the shoes with an inexpensive craft brush and allow it to dry. Check the results and apply a second layer if needed.
Draw on your shoes with glow-in-the-dark pens. Glowing ink is available in a variety of pen styles, including felt pens and fine-point ink pens.
