The Lexmark X2650 is a colour inkjet printer that also serves as a scanner. Using the Lexmark 15A cartridge, the printer can reproduce nearly any colour image. Instead of purchasing an expensive replacement cartridge when the ink runs out on your printer, you can easily refill your old cartridge from home. Refilling the cartridge can be done quickly with simple tools.

Instructions

  1. 1

Remove the Lexmark 15A cartridge from your printer and position it upright on top of a few layers of paper towel.

  2. 2

Position the cartridge so that the label is upright and slowly remove the label.

  3. 3

Locate the refill holes. Underneath the label will be three dimples that you will need to enlarge using the screwdriver. Looking from above the top of the cartridge, the dimple on the top-centre of the cartridge is the magenta refill hole, the dimple on the bottom left is the yellow refill hole and the dimple to the bottom right is the cyan refill hole.

  4. 4

Enlarge the three holes using the thumb drill.

  5. 5

Fill the three syringes with 7ml of ink. Each syringe should hold one of the three coloured inks.

  6. 6

Insert the syringes into the respective refill holes and slowly release the contents.

  7. 7

Place the Lexmark 15A cartridge back into the printer and allow it to settle for eight hours. Run a cleaning cycle, then resume regular printing.
