How to check my army security clearance
Soldiers are evaluated to determine whether they qualify for an Army security clearance. (dog tags image by pearlguy from

The Army issues a security clearance to soldiers whose jobs necessitate trusting them with classified information. Security clearances vary in degree. Most security clearances issued by the Army are "secret," which is used to protect information which, in the hands of an enemy, may cause harm to military troops, national security or military operations. "Top secret" clearance is given only to soldiers whose position, pay grade and job description require knowledge of information which would assuredly, in the hands of an enemy, cause harm to troops, national security or military operations. Security clearances above "Top secret" are given solely to soldiers whose jobs necessitate those clearances. Army security clearances are governed by Army Regulation (AR) 380-67.
