How to Restore McAfee Quarantined Files

When your McAfee antivirus software performs a scan of your computer, it quarantines files that might contain viruses or be harmful to your machine. Sometimes, McAfee will quarantine files that are harmless and do not need to be in the quarantine. When this happens, you can check the files to make sure they are clean and then restore them.

    Right-click the McAfee start-up icon. Hover over "VirusScan" and select "Manage Quarantined Files."

    Click the checkboxes next to the files you want to clean. You should clean your files before you restore them to make sure they are not harmful to your computer.

    Click "Restore" if the file passes as clean. If it is not clean, click "Delete" to remove it from your computer.
