How to decorate a candelabra

Updated February 21, 2017

A candelabra is a decorative pedestal featuring several candle-holder branches. Candelabras are available in a variety of materials such as crystal, bronze, wrought iron, brass and gold and silver-tone metals. Decorate a candelabra to use as elegant reception or party table decor. A decorated candelabra makes an ideal centrepiece, as well as a subdued lighting element. Enhance a candelabra with simple craft items such as ribbons and floral pieces to create a themed decor piece.

Fill the candelabra with tall taper candles. Choose candles that coordinate with the overall table or party theme or colour scheme. Use red and green candles to set a Christmas party table. Insert pastel pink and green candles into the candelabra as summer garden soir´┐Że decor. Get creative by using beaded candles.

Enhance the candelabra with flowers and vines. Wrap a wired faux mini-ivy vine around the candelabra's base for a garden party or a small evergreen garland as Christmas decor. Attach faux flowers featuring wire stems directly under the candles or anywhere on the base. Use red poinsettia flowers for a Christmas-inspired candelabra or tulips and roses for a summer theme.

Enhance the candelabra with ribbons. Choose a themed ribbon, such as a red velvet version for Christmas celebration or a pink satin or grosgrain style for a garden-inspired party. Tie the ribbon into a bow directly under the candelabra's candle holders. Completely wrapping the base of the candelabra with wire ribbon is another option.

Create an elegant candelabra look using glamorous decor items. Drape faux pearl strands over the candelabra's branches. String crystal seed beads onto a thin piece of wire and wrap it around the candelabra's branches and base.
