  1. 1

Cut the length of ribbon in half with the scissors.

  2. 2

Sew the end of one ribbon to a corner of one bandanna. Sew the end of the other ribbon to a corner of the other bandanna.

  3. 3

Lay out one bandanna with the corners at the top, bottom, left and right, making the corner with the sewn ribbon the top corner. Lay the second bandanna over the first bandanna with the corners arranged in the same way (top corner with the ribbon sewn to it), except place this bandanna so the top corner is approximately 20 cm (8 inches) straight to the left of the top corner of the other bandanna.

  4. 4

Pin the two bandannas together where they meet between the two top corners. This will be the front centre of the halter top. Tack the two bandannas together at this point by taking several stitches with the sewing machine. Remove the pin.

  5. 5

Arrange the halter top on yourself by placing the top corners over your chest and tying the two ribbons together behind your neck. The tacked point on the bandannas should rest over your chest.

  6. 6

Separate the two bandannas below the tacked point and apply the fuzzy half of the hook-and-loop square onto the right bandanna's left-side corner. Determine where you must place the scratchy half of the hook-and-loop square on the inside of the left bandanna by pulling the bandannas around yourself. Place the scratchy half of the hook-and-loop square at this point to hold the bandanna halter top securely around your front torso.

  7. 7

Pull the ends of the bandanna around yourself to your back and tie the right bandanna's right corner to the left bandanna's left corner behind your back to finish the halter top.
