How to Fix PlayStation3 Error Message 8003051E

Updated April 17, 2017

With game systems such as the Wii, Xbox and PlayStation 3 having the ability to move beyond the simple function of game play, it becomes difficult to understand when an error occurs and for what reason. Is it a game disc? Or is it the internet connection in your house? The solution is never easy to discover, especially if the problem is unknown.

Unplug any external hard drive that may be attached to the PS3.

Restart the PS3, including unplugging it and plugging it into the power supply again.

Format the file you are trying to save to be less than 2 GB in size. The main reason you are getting this error (game will not save) is due to the large file you tried to save.

Connect the external hard drive to your PS3 again and save the file. The error should not occur again.
