The Sims is a life-simulation series in which you create characters (or Sims) and live their lives. The Sims series allows you to customise your Sim's personality, clothing and looks. Unfortunately, after you've created your Sim and have started playing the game, the only thing you can change about your Sim is its hair and make-up. However, it is possible to change the eye colour mid-game by downloading contacts for your Sims. Contacts act as full-face make-up, which you can change at any point in the game. By downloading contacts, your Sim can simply go to a mirror and change make-up for a different eye colour.

Instructions

  1. 1

Go to rarlab.com (See Resources) to download WinRAR, a program used to "extract" large compressed files. This program is required to download extra content for The Sims.

  2. 2

Go to a Sims downloads website such as ModTheSims.info (See Resources). Choose whether you want to search for downloads for The Sims 2 or The Sims 3, then search for "Contacts" under "Downloads." Scroll through the list of contacts until you find ones you want to download.

  3. 3

Click on the name of the contacts you want your Sim to wear, then click "Download" and click on the file you want to download. Once the file has downloaded, right click on it and select "Extract to..." to have WinRAR extract it to your Sims 2 or Sims 3 "Downloads" folder. The "Downloads" folder is under "My Documents" then "EA Games" and finally "The Sims 2" or "The Sims 3."

  4. 4

Start your Sims 2 or Sims 3 game and have your Sim "Change Appearance" with a mirror. Select "Full Face Makeup" and there you will find the contacts you downloaded. Select the contacts, and your Sim's eyes will change to the colour of the contacts you selected.
