Install the photo editing software. Find clip art or photos of the design you want on your bikini. Flowers, seashells and butterflies are popular. Download and save the files to your computer.
Open the photo editing software. Click on "File," and then "Open New" or "Create New." Select the size of the project. Think in terms of how big you want the image to be on your design. For a bikini you should keep the images small, around 2 inches works well. Choose image size instead of pixel size from the drop-down menu.
Open the photos or clip art you saved, and copy and paste them into your new project. Arrange the pictures into the desired location. You should be able to select the images and drag and drop them into place. Use the software to crop, enlarge, or add text. For a bikini design, arrange the pictures in a row, so that you get as many as possible on one sheet of paper. You will cut them out later. Save your project.
Insert the iron-on transfer paper into your printer, making sure it is straight. Open your project on the computer. Click on "File" and select "Print." Select the proper paper size and type from the drop-down menus. Click on "Print." Cut the images out, leaving approximately 1/4 an inch of paper around the images.
Lay your bikini on the ironing board. Plug in your iron and set it to the temperature stated on the paper package. Lay the image print side down on the bikini. Iron over the paper, keeping it flat on the bikini. You may want to have a friend help you keep the fabric stretched flat while you iron. Carefully peel the paper backing off.
