How to Connect a Desktop to a Toshiba Regza Via an HDMI Port

Updated February 21, 2017

The Toshiba Regza is a line of HD (high-definition) television sets with connection ports for hooking up different types of audio and video equipment, including a computer. The Regza is equipped with High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) ports on the back panel for connecting digital equipment, such as newer PCs and laptops containing HDMI ports. An HDMI cable can transmit high-definition video and up to eight channels of digital audio from the computer to the Regza, making it possible to enjoy the HD resources of the computer and the internet on the large Regza screen.

Shut down the computer while making the cable connection.

Insert the six-sided plug on one end of the HDMI cable into an HDMI OUT port on the back of the computer tower or the back edge of a laptop with the wider end of the plug turned upward.

Connect the plug on the other end of the HDMI cable to an HDMI IN port on the back panel of the Regza TV.

Turn on the computer and the Regza, then press the "Input" button repeatedly on the TV remote control to access the HDMI port connecting it with the computer.

Always shut down the computer and disconnect the TV from the power when connecting or disconnecting other cables.
