How to Roller Set Hair Extensions

When you have hair extensions, you don't have to keep sporting the same look all of the time. You can curl the extensions to create an entirely different appearance. Curling irons can be used on extensions that are made of human hair. However, the curling irons cannot be used on synthetic hair extensions because the high heat will melt the fibres of the extensions. As an alternative solution, you can roller set your hair extensions. By roller setting you can't go wrong, since this method can be done with both human and synthetic extensions.

Instructions

  1. 1

Place all of the hair extensions in your hair. The hair extensions should be placed in so that they fall according to the style you want to achieve.

  2. 2

Place all of the hair extensions in your hair. The hair extensions should be placed in so that they fall according to the style you want to achieve.

  3. 3

Place a small amount of setting lotion or styling mousse on the parted section. You should place enough lotion/mousse to dampen the section of hair. Don't drench it.

  4. 4

Hold the parted section of hair in one hand as you begin to roll the section of hair with the other hand. The hair roller should be placed on the end of the section of hair and rolled until the roller is close to your head. Clamp the roller to secure it. If your hair roller does not have a built in clamp you can use hair clips to secure the roller.

  5. 5

Repeat steps 2 through 4 until all of your hair (extensions) have been rolled.

  6. 6

Sit underneath a hair dryer for 30 to 45 minutes so that your curls can set. The hair dryer should be set on low to medium heat to avoid damaging your real hair. For synthetic extensions, use the lowest heat setting.

  7. 7

Remove the rollers from your hair. Comb and style your hair as desired.
