Google Maps is a popular online cartographical website featuring a customisable "My Maps" facility. Google My Maps users can customise maps of a local area, a country or even world tour by placing blue pins or markers to plot a route. Adding, editing or removing markers in Google My Maps is a process that should not take longer than a few seconds.
Go to the Google Maps page (see Resources below for link) and click "Sign In" in the top right corner.
Log in to your Google Maps account.
Click "My Maps" from the top left corner of the screen.
Select the map containing the markers you want to remove from the left column.
Click on the marker you want to remove from the map.
Click "Delete" in the bottom left of the speech-bubble-like menu.
Note that you can remove only markers you have created. Other markers can only be hidden in the main map view by clicking "More" while viewing a map and selecting "Hide All." This option is not available if you have searched for a specific location and it is represented with a marker.
