Jacuzzi is a long-standing brand, specialising in whirlpool hot tub and bath units. The cleaning procedure for a whirlpool bath is a bit different from a basic tub and shower cleaning routine. The jacuzzi bath has bathtub jets within the unit, out of plain sight. These jets create the unique whirlpool spa experience, but the jets also draw in and push out the water used in the bath. This makes it important to clean with a routine that not only cleans the bathtub, but also cleans the jets.
- Skill level:
Things you need
- Dishwasher detergent
- Bleach, optional
Drain the bath after use, and plug the tub.
Pour a quarter cup of dishwasher detergent into the jacuzzi, or drop in two dishwasher detergent tablets. Both work well, so use what you have available.
Pour an optional half cup of bleach into the bath for added disinfecting.
Turn on the tub faucet, and fill the whirlpool with hot water. Stop when all whirlpool jets are under the water line.
Turn on the jacuzzi jets, and run the jets for 10 minutes. Drain the bath.
Wipe the bath exterior with a damp cleaning cloth.
Fill your whirlpool bath again with only hot water, run for 10 more minutes, and drain.
