Outlook Express is a free e-mail client included with the Windows XP operating system. The application allows you to easily connect to your POP3 or IMAP e-mail accounts for sending and receiving mail. If you have an IMAP account (check with your e-mail service provider), you can set Outlook Express to only download the email headers, rather than the whole message. This allows you to preview the message (sender and subject) before downloading the entire message to read. This saves space on your computer and also helps to protect against spam.
